Easy Homemade Coconut Granola

Store bought granolas can be packed full of sugar, or worse! High fructose corn syrup! I’ve been making my own for years and experimenting to make it better and better. Here is my favorite mix made with Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil for added benefits. This recipe makes about 26 servings (1/4 cup). I like to eat it with soy yogurt and fruit or with almond milk. But I am sure it would be great with cow’s milk or any yogurt as well! It’s low calorie and low fat! Enjoy for breakfast or as a snack! Share with us how you like to eat your granola.

Budget & Bikini Friendly Foods

IMG_0210
I, like the other 99% of people on earth, live on a budget. I have a decent job, well three jobs actually, and am fortunate enough to enjoy many things. I work hard to earn my money (again three jobs) so I hate the idea of spending it all on food. I am in the camp that believes saving on groceries means splurging on shoes (NIKE shoes in particular). So here are my ten budget and bikini friendly foods.

Whey Protein:My favorite is Optimum Gold Standard and it comes in more flavors than you can imagine. In one scoop, you get 24 grams of protein and only one gram of sugar. Cost 0.75 cents per serving.

You have to work at it. Just like you have to work at getting the body you want, or the health you desire, you must work at forming the habits to do so.

So, go on, start today. Get on your workout gear, put your headphones on your head with your upbeat playlist and walk out the door towards whatever exercise you can do. You can do it! I’m going to right now! You should [...]

You Are What You Eat – Guide to Genetically Modified Foods (GMOs)

There are many different diets out there. Diets to lose weight, diets to watch your sodium intake, diets that are good for your heart, diets for anti-again and many more. There are also diets that are more lifestyle eating plan specific such as raw food diet, vegan diet, and eating clean diet. I have been really interested in eating clean lately. With all the artificial flavors, colors, additives and chemicals being put in our foods, its really got me worried. GMO’s are foods that have been altered using genetic engineering techniques. There are many questions raised these days on wether or not they are safe to eat and many protests [...]
